Extremely central, close to Mahaai on Curaçao, in the exclusive, secure Joonchi resort, which has a total of 12 luxury villas, lies this privately located family villa in Mexican style on a plot of no less than 1,420 m².

Traditional craftsmanship and materials were used in the construction of this villa, which is evident in the authentic bamboo ceilings in the living room, the distinctive Mexican-style plasterwork executed traditionally by Colombian craftsmen, and the terracotta floors.

Through a beautiful electric gate, you drive in and see a stately villa in Mexican hacienda style, constructed entirely with authentic materials. The large driveway, paved with slate, offers space for several cars. At the front of the villa is a platform creating a beautiful canopy above the entrance. Upon entering the spacious, bright hall, you immediately see the green-bordered courtyard with a large seating area and a lounge area for deckchairs by the centrally located pool with a waterfall. This creates a huge wow effect! The waterfall operates on a timer. The pool was completely renovated in 2024.

A beautiful tropical garden surrounds the entire villa with mature trees and shrubs, mango trees, the evergreen lignum vitae (pokhout), large hedges of sea grape leaves, Fayalobi (Ixora), palms, and other beautiful plant species. Due to this mature vegetation, there is complete privacy around the entire villa, giving you the tranquility of a green oasis. There is a deep well with a drip system for watering the entire garden. There are various terraces, including a hardwood lounge deck flanked by two large trees and a setup with a traditional outdoor oven/BBQ.

The villa is built with thick walls, plastered irregularly in traditional Mexican style, and has decorative wrought ironwork that not only beautifies but also ensures that all doors and windows can remain open to let the trade wind provide cooling. The villa is finished with rough stucco on the outside, with some accents made of natural stone.

Country shutters are installed for the windows in the various rooms for darkening and emphasizing the traditional building style. Screens for the windows are also present. All windows and doors are made of hardwood with classic wrought iron hardware. All decorative wrought ironwork is also made of wrought iron.

The house is built in a U-shape, and through a light open hall with massive pillars and arches, the living room on the left side downstairs, which opens into a spacious covered outdoor terrace, the TV room, the guest toilet, and a storage room are connected. The ceiling in the living room and the covered, shady terrace is made of bamboo, giving a special effect to the space. Through the large wooden doors, you walk onto the terrace and into the garden to the pool, seamlessly blending indoors and outdoors. The living room can also be cooled if desired; for windless days, there is air conditioning.

On the right side of the U-shape downstairs are the dining room and the country-style kitchen, which opens onto a covered outdoor terrace that connects the guest room with an ensuite bathroom to the house. This guest room overlooks the beautiful garden and pool.

The kitchen has a concrete countertop with cobalt blue traditional tiles as an accent, a freestanding American double-door refrigerator, an oven, a 5-burner stove, and a freestanding dishwasher. From the kitchen, there is access to a small courtyard behind the house where the washer and dryer are located and where a generator is placed, ensuring you never run out of power in emergencies. There is also a room for a live-in with a bathroom on the ground floor.

You reach the first floor via a terracotta staircase leading to a large hall with a high ceiling and views on either side. This floor houses three bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, with the spacious master bedroom having a walk-in closet with louvered doors and a large ensuite bathroom tiled with natural stone, a ceramic sink, a shower, toilet, and a lovely bathtub. These bedrooms have solid wood floors.

On the upper floor, there are two covered outdoor terraces; one above the garage and the other on the garden side, a wonderful private lounge area with a beautiful view of the house, garden, and pool. A staircase leads downstairs, allowing the entire house to be fully accessible.

All bathrooms, as well as the guest toilet, have traditional authentic earthenware sinks set in a concrete countertop with hardwood cabinets and a high wooden ceiling. All bedrooms, both downstairs and upstairs, have air conditioning and built-in wooden closets, high hardwood ceilings, and beautiful accents with glazed tiles, including cobalt blue ones.

On the right side of the villa is the garage with large hardwood doors, sufficient storage space, and room for two cars.

There are sensors for the outdoor lighting that turns on in the evening. A security system with cameras is present in and around the entire villa.
