Villa One

The design of this unique villa began in 2019. The current owner chose Urban Symbiose as the architect. The design was inspired by the post-war concept of Case Study Houses. This style, inspired by the American countryside, is characterised by horizontal lines, geometric shapes and a seamless transition between indoors and outdoors.

These characteristics are clearly reflected in the design of Villa One. The large planters on the façade form a unity with the garden, the interior and exterior flow seamlessly into each other and the façades consist of long horizontal lines. www.urbansymbiose.com

The interior design was created by Nicoline Beerkens, one of the leading interior designers in the Netherlands. She designs interiors throughout Europe and makes extensive use of natural materials such as wood and marble. Warm, natural colours predominate and blend perfectly with the garden and exterior. The villa was built between 2020 and 2022 by Aerdenhout Villabouw, a renowned builder of high-end homes. The villa is almost entirely energy neutral thanks to the use of a geothermal heat pump, air heat pump and solar panels. The entire house is equipped with a Creston home automation system, which allows everything imaginable to be controlled with ease.

Living, cooking and entrance
Entrance on the ground floor via the hall with staircase, lift, cloakroom, guest toilet and utility room. The organically designed staircase is a special feature due to its shape and light, an absolute eye-catcher. The living room is located on the south-east and has beautiful light due to its location and large windows. The centre of the space is formed by the tasteful kitchen with an island and bar. The custom-made kitchen is finished with marble and equipped with Gaggenau appliances. On the water side is the dining room with a beautiful view of the greenery and water of the Zuider Amstelkanaal.
The living room is directly adjacent to the terrace and garden. The space offers intimacy and tranquillity thanks to the fireplace and beautiful built-in cherry wood cupboards. Unique are the large aluminium sliding doors (TUDOR) that allow the interior and exterior to merge seamlessly. On nice days, these can be opened, allowing the living area to extend onto the terrace.

Sleeping and bathing
The villa has a total of four bedrooms and four bathrooms, with the possibility of easily creating a fifth and sixth bedroom. There are three bedrooms on the first floor. The first bedroom, facing south, offers a magnificent view of the garden and access to a roof terrace. This room has a walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin. The second bedroom, located on the water side, functions as a small studio apartment with its own living area or workspace. This room is ideal for an older child or a live-in au pair. The walk-in closet is fitted with custom-made wardrobes and the bathroom has a shower, toilet and washbasin.
The third bedroom, facing west, has a large bathroom off the hallway, equipped with a bathtub, double sink, shower and toilet.
The entire second floor is furnished as a master suite. The bedroom with fireplace offers views of both the water and the garden. The sunny roof terrace is accessible through the glass front, an ideal place to start the day or end it in the evening sun. Centrally located is the walk-in closet with custom-made wardrobes and a separate toilet. The beautiful bathroom has a freestanding bath, double Sunshower with sunbed function or infrared and double washbasin. The whole is finished with Emperador Dark marble and custom-made wardrobes.

Wellness & relaxation
Villa One has extensive wellness facilities. The full-size swimming pool is equipped with a counter-current system, allowing for a good swim. Next to the pool is a jacuzzi for several people. The infrared sauna is a wonderful place to relax. There is also a shower room and a separate toilet.
Adjacent to the swimming pool is a bar, an ideal place for a party or a drink. The bar and the swimming pool are stylishly separated by a glass wall with integrated wine climate cabinets.
There is also a fully soundproof home cinema and a small fitness room with various equipment.

The garden and roof terraces
Living in the middle of the city yet surrounded by greenery and water. Villa One is situated on a spacious plot of 728 m². The garden, enclosed by a raised hedge of rhododendrons, offers plenty of privacy.
The landscape architect designed a garden with several terraces, lots of mature greenery and a high degree of privacy. Thanks to its southern exposure, there is plenty of sun and light. Both the first and second floors have roof terraces with morning and evening sun. From the upper terrace, there is a beautiful view of the Zuidas.
