Looking through the photo albums, it is hard to imagine that this particular house, located on the Noordvliet in Maassluis, looked like this. “In our experience, we bought a garage with the idea of creating something beautiful for our collection of cars. Little did we know that we had bought a wine warehouse.” according to the current residents.
Restore in style
“During the stripping of the building, we exposed the history. Then, when we also bought the trading house, we thought: ‘Now the original situation is complete, we will restore it all in style’.”
Tram depot
There are now several classic cars in the warehouse building that used to be full of wine barrels. In addition, the current owners created a loft upstairs in the former warehouse building. Where there used to be a bottling plant, there is now a place for guests to stay with a separate entrance and exit to the carriage house. Since the thirties of the last century, this was the bottle cage of the wine warehouse. “It’s a bit like a tram depot, don’t you think?”
